Home And Garden Show Columbus Ohio

The Columbus Dispatch Home and Garden Show comes to the Ohio Expo Center February 18-26, bringing with it national celebrities. Among those attending are HGTV’s Property Brothers, Drew and Jonathan Scott. The Scott brothers shared the inside scoop on their appearance, as well as a little background on themselves, with Columbus Underground. Drew and Jonathan will be presenting at the Home and Garden Show February 25, focusing their time on the idea of having a fresh look at design. Drew, who handles the real estate aspect of the team, explained the two will give an informative 45-minute talk with time for Q&A afterwards. Jonathan, the licensed contractor of the duo, added that the talk will be memorable and attendees will have a good time as he plans to “make fun of Drew a lot.” Among the topics they will cover are how to maximize existing space in today’s economy and how outdoor living can be an extension of the indoor. The Scott brothers are looking forward to interacting with the audience during the Q&A time, and they encourage attendees to come prepared with their best questions for them. In addition, they will be offering a book signing for their first book, Dream Home. Guests who wish to have their own copies signed should bring them to the show. The brothers also offered this advice to those planning to attend – arrive early as seating goes quickly for their appearances. They commented that they are selective in their visits and only make about twenty-five live appearances a year, and although their time is brief, they are looking forward to being in Columbus. Drew and Jonathan shared some of their own backstory that led to their current success. While Johnathan was a practicing illusionist and Drew was breaking into the acting/directing world, they entered the Real Estate business to fund their various creative endeavors. Drew landed a role on a potential reality show, and the producers saw something in him they knew the public would love. Although that show ultimately fell through, the producers wanted to keep Drew around. They brought Jonathan in and together they launched Property Brothers, a show that endeared them not only to viewers in their native land of Canada, but to people everywhere. Since its first airing in 2011, the show has exploded in popularity and is now streamed in 160 countries and dubbed in dozens of languages. As the popularity of the original Property Brothers show grew, the Scott Brothers broadened their horizons. Along with hosting various spin-offs, including Property Brothers at Home and Buying + Selling, they have also launched a line of home goods titled Scott Living. Additionally, they have founded the family business, Scott Brothers Entertainment, with their brother JD. They have also kept up their creative inclinations through writing books (Dream Home, April 2016, and an upcoming memoir), as well as writing and recording music. Drew and Jonathan plan to devote some of their “spare” time to music while filming in Nashville during the coming months. When asked their favorite part of their jobs, both brothers agreed the best part is the “brother versus brother” competition. Fans have come to love the brother-banter that is prevalent in every aspect of their shows. Jonathan commented that the most rewarding part of the process is the moment when they get to hand keys over to the homeowners, knowing they made a difference in creating a dream home for that family. Drew expounded on that sense of fulfillment, saying he loves that they are also able to help charities and give back to the community. In addition to appearing at the Home and Garden Show, the brothers want to explore the city while they are here. They would love for fans to send them suggestions on the best eateries and activities around the city. They can be reached on social media with their handles: @mrsilverscott and @mrdrewscott.
